Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Rave

Pure Ice has created a DJ inspired nail polish collection called Vinyl Remix.  There are six sets included in this collection.  Each set includes a Platinum base coat, a Vinyl Remix polish, a nail file shaped like a vinyl record, and a free song download. 

All of the sets look like they have a white and a black nail polish.  The white platinum base coat is the same; however the black polish changes into a color with black crackle on top.  The color depends on which of the Vinyl Remix sets you have.  Today I have Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix nail polish in Rave.  Rave is an orange polish.

I started out with Sinful Colors Basecoat.  I then applied the Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat.  The Platinum Magic Base Coat is a thick white polish that went on easily and dried quickly. 

When this was dry, I begin to paint my nails with Rave.  The polish cracks differently depending on the brush strokes you use.  As the polish dries it begins to crack and change colors.  It is interesting to watch and a ton of fun creating different looks!  On my left hand I brushed an “S” shape onto the middle of my nails a few times.  I then filled in the sides with diagonal lines from the outer part of my nails toward the “S” shaped center.  I topped it off with N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.  

I decided to play around with different brush strokes on my right hand.  Since I am right-handed, I had to paint the nails on my right hand with my left hand.  Despite this, the nails on my right hand turned out looking good.  It just goes to show how easy it is to create nail art with Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix polishes! 

On my thumb I did the same brush strokes as I did on my left hand.  I used diagonal brush strokes on my pointer.  I did horizontal brush strokes on my middle finger which made me think of tiger stripes when it dried.  I did three small circles on my ring finger, and for my pinky, I did vertical brush strokes. 

I had a lot of fun using these nail polishes! It was simple to do and you end up with a great looking design.  Pure Ice Vinyl Remix will be available at Wal-Mart now in May.

Prom Night

Pure Ice Strapless is one of my favorite blue nail polishes.  This is a deep blue polish packed with sparkles.  It is just gorgeous.  It is funny the color is called strapless because after I painted my nails with it for the first time I kept thinking it would make a beautiful evening gown.  It was not until later that I saw the name.  I painted my nails with three coats of Strapless.   

I then decided I would try out my new Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kit.  I picked the moon and stars design on plate SE21.  I stamped the design using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.   

When this was dry I added a top coat of N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.   

I absolutely love the way this came out!  I think the blue and silver complement each other very well.  I am also very pleased with the Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kit!  You pay about $10 for 5 image plates, a double sided nail stamper, a scraper (I like to use an old credit/gift card), and an image plate holder.   

Swap with Fairy_Ana

I recently did a swap with Ana from http://fairy-anna.blogspot.com.  I was looking for some Essence Stampy Designs.  She was kind enough to help me find some Essence products I was looking for.  In exchange she asked for a few Sinful Colors nail polishes.  Ana sent me an Essence Stampy Set and Essence Nail Art Twins Edward and Bella.  She also surprised my with an extra Stampy Design plate and Essence Colour & Go nail polish in Time for Romance.  I love everything Ana sent!  I am going to have a lot of fun trying everything out.  Be sure to check out Ana’s blog—it is very interesting and she is a sweet person.

Pure Ice Crackle & Ice Duo Strike A Pose

Pure Ice Crackle & Ice Duo Strike A Pose is a nail polish set that includes a silver glitter polish (Beware 537CP), a blue crackle polish (Strike A Pose 576CP), and a cute little nail file that shows the effect these two polishes will have together.  I love the packaging these polishes came in.  I think it is very clever that the free nail file gives a sneak peek of what these two shades will look like on your nails.   

I started this look with Sinful Colors Basecoat.  I then applied two smooth coats of Beware.  Beware is a light silver glitter packed polish.  This is a gorgeous color that would look great even if worn on its own.   

When Beware was dry, I added one coat of Strike A Pose.  Strike A Pose is a striking shade of blue.  It went on easily and cracked nicely.   

I finished this look off with N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.  

I am impressed with this set.  I think the silver glitter with the blue crackle on top looks amazing.  These colors definitely go good together.  Both these polishes were easy to work with and the end result is eye grabbing and spectacular.  If you like crackle polishes I would recommend checking out the Pure Ice Crackle & Ice Duo sets.  These can be purchased online at http://baricosmetics.com and also at Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores.

St. Patrick’s Day Mani Ft. Green Ocean and Four Leaf Clovers

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  I picked up Sinful Colors’ Green Ocean knowing this is what I would wear on my nails for St. Patrick’s Day.  This is a lovely green flakey polish with flashes of blue in it.  I applied three coats.  

When this was dry I used Wet N Wild’s French White Crème and MASH Plate m22 to stamp on cute little four leaf clovers.   

I topped it all off with N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.  

I love that Green Ocean has different shades of green and flashes of blue in it.  This polish definitely caught my eye.  The four leaf clovers with the little hearts are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!  

Lizard Crack Pattern Nail Polish BH 52 Marina

Today I have a blue crackle nail polish from Everbella Nail & Beauty Supply. This polish is part of a three piece set. You get a crackle polish of your choice (there are 30+ colors to choose from), a clear top coat polish, and a base color polish that is either white, black, silver, pink, or purple.

My set came with a pink polish. This is a very pretty shade of pink with a nice sparkle to it. I applied three coats of this pink polish.

When my base polish was dry, I applied the blue (BH 52 Marina) crackle nail polish (marked X&D on the bottle). Everbella’s website has an instructional video showing how to apply these polishes which can be seen here. The crackle polish is applied both vertically and horizontally in this video. I decided to try applying the crackle polish this way as well.

The crackle polish is a bit thick, but it works very well.  The BH 52 Marina is a beautiful blue color.  It is a lighter shade of blue that reminds me of the turquoise found in Native American jewelry.  I waited a few minutes to make sure the crackle polish was dry and done cracking (the color lightened as it dried).  I then applied the clear top coat (this darkened up the crackle polish again to the color in the bottle). 

Because this polish is such a pretty shade of blue I decided to try it on another color as well.  For this second look, I applied two coats of Pure Ice’s Strapless.  This is a dark blue polish with tons of sparkles in it.

When this color was dry, I added the BH 52 Marina Lizard Crack Pattern Nail Polish.  I decided to apply the crackle polish vertically only this time—just to change up the look a little bit.  When the crackle polish was completely dry, I added N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station as a top coat. 

Overall I am very pleased with these polishes.  A definite thumbs up for anyone who wants to get their nails noticed.  There is a great variety of colors to choose from.  Here is a color chart of the 30+ crackle polishes.
